OK, one of the things I need to watch out for if I am becoming more active is getting enough sleep. When I feel like I am coming into a spiritual awakening, I want to keep going and not rest. So let's look at the last 2 nights and day of rest. Saturday night I laid down on the recliner about 10:30pm and woke up about 2:30AM, 4 hours rest. I felt good. It was solid rest, some interesting dreams I can't recall. Sunday afternoon after being up from 2:30am, I laid down again on the recliner at about 5:00pm and woke back up about 5:50pm. Again I felt refreshed and had some interesting dreams I can't recall. Last night I went up to bed and was all laid in ready for sleep when Colleen said it was 12:01am, it was now on her birthday. The next thing I knew it was 3:00am and I got up rested and had interesting dreams I can't recall. My lower back was hurting more than when I rest on the recliner. I took my pain med regiment and was at my desk wanting to get to work but my back was bothering me too much. So I decided to go into the living room to the recliner and turn the TV on in there and give the meds an hour to work. I had a few ounces of corn chips with some tea. When it neared 4:00am, I got up and brushed my teeth, buzzed my face and head with the clippers and splashed my head with warm water. I felt much better and came into the office to work.
So I feel I am getting enough rest to feel good. My thoughts are not racing and I am starting things and following them through to completion instead of a bunch of things I use to start and leave open ended. The picture I opened up the post with is what I will take for early morning nutrition. I will take the time to list the things I take here because I don't know how to do it in a separate section yet. First the supplements I take around 6:am and 6:pm:
glucosamine chondilositin MSN am/pm
omega 3 fish oil am/pm
Dr. Tobias Vitality
42 natural fruits & vegitables+
plant based enzymes+probiotics am
arthro 7 joint support /pm
milk thistle am/pm
turmeric curcumin am/pm
green tea extract am
the hornier goat blend(amazon) am
panax ginseng am
collagen 18 amino acids am/pm
royal jelly am
calcium 600mg /pm
I also take testosterone in the form of a topical gel since when I was getting my back checked out it was found to be low.
For pain I take etodolac 400mg/every 8 hours; tylenol 1300mg/every 8 hours; and naproxen 220mg/every 12 hours.
For medical/psychiatric medicine I take:
paroxetine (paxil) 10mg in am
topiramate 50mg in am
risperidone 3mg at 10:pm
hydroxyzine 50mg at 10:pm
I am taking the topiramate for alcohol cravings. My first sober day was February 10th of this year. I have been taking the topiramate even though I have no desire to drink anymore. There is nothing appealing about it to me anymore like it use to be. I don't feel like I am missing out on anything nor do I want to use it to escape into another temporary reality. This is the first time I have not drank and not missed it in my life. I have never felt better in my life than I have these past months and it just keeps getting better.
Now some words on eating. I am interested in finding my ideal weight. I am not sure what that is. I would like it to be a place that I have a comfortable amount of fat on my body so I can move about freely and have stamina to last at physical activities. I would think that would leave me at a pleasant looking appearance to myself and others. I want to eat a balanced diet in which I get full nutrition of everything I want my body to be able to do. I have made some changes this week:
This is my 3rd day of cutting out ice cream. I recently got on a kick of eating ice cream everyday, sometimes twice a day and a lot of it. I know I put on some weight. I have not weighed myself in a while, so I did for the first time 3 days ago and I was a little over 301 pounds. This morning I am 299.8. So I am going down nearly a pound a day, that is OK for now. Here is what I can remember I ate and drank yesterday:
1 sweet and salty granola bar
6 ounces of cole slaw
8 ounces of cheese
12 ounces of egg/rice/cheese casserole
(3) 400 calorie meal replacement bottles of soylent
(10) 14 oz ice tea drinks
5 oz corn chips
That is somewhere over 2000 calories and I lost about a pound. I had 4 good bowl movements, 3 in the morning, one in the afternoon. My urine was steady and good color all day. I did not have any emergency bathroom incidents.
Now a word on yesterdays post. I did not proof read it because I was doing it all day and I was getting called away to do other things. I was afraid it I would loose it to a freeze or idle lapse. When Colleen got home I asked her to log on as an observer and read it to me. There was several typos and some misinformation. I don't see a way of going back in to change it now, so it will have to stay the way it is. I am going to try to add more info as I go along and see if I can add pictures then text and more pictures. The last time I tried, I got stuck.
So far so good. This is a picture of my desk yesterday. It is neat, I can see what I am doing and know what I am going to do next. I am not racing from one idea to the next starting a hundred things and finishing none. I have a list of things going on and I highlight them as I get them done. I am very busy lately because I am trying to clean my house up of 20 years of a mess in many areas while having current events going on at the same time. Today is Colleen's 60th birthday and I want to bake her a special cake. I bought all the special equipment to do it for less than it would cost to take her to a show. We are also planing to eat out at Smiths restaurant in Cohoes this evening. I have a court appearance to make with Jennifer in Albany City Court for 9:00am. It should be quick and Colleen wants to go along. It will be a good opportunity for her and Jennifer to get to know each other a bit and calm some of the waters Colleen is on with her. I have a number of things I would like to be done around here like clean-up of leaves and organizing the garage that Jennifer can do if Colleen can accept her as safe to us. Jennifer is wanting to do something and needs the money. It is a win/win situation for both of us.
